Decidedly Undecided

Ariann1_2 I’ve decided to finish Ariann and am now undecided about my result.

To recap the saga of the knittin’, I noticed during the knit-up that my sweater was looking small-ish.  I was unsure whether to rip at that point to continue on and block it out and see what’s shaking.  I wet blocked (no strenuous pinning and pulling) and sewed on buttons from the stash and this is the result.

It’s super soft (it is cormo yarn afterall) and I like the design, I just think it’s kinda tight.  The buttons must also think it’s kinda tight, since they’re doing all the work across the boobages (aka titones).  I’ll wear it a bit and see how it stretches.  If I can’t get into the fit, I’ll rip it out and make it a size larger.

  1. It looks great in the photo – and it’s not gaping around the buttons so much you can see what’s underneath, just a teeny bit. It also might stretch a bit with wear? I hope so!

  2. I call it the “Suspension Bridge Effect”. Fine over rivers, not so much over the boobs. Here’s hoping Ariann beds in nicely. [crosses fingers]

  3. I like it- I think it looks cute and fitted. Would you wear it buttoned up like that most of the time? I would think unbuttoned some it would give a nice lift and accentuate look to the boobages.
But I don’t have any, so I’m not really one to say…:)

  4. From here, it doesn’t look too tight, but I know exactly what you mean — if the fit is not right, it’s not worth leaving it — especially with such lovely yarn and a lovely pattern. You WANT that garment. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it’ll settle in nicely. If not, you love knitting anyway, right? 🙂
